[Suggestion] Dedicate Green Weapons/Offhands into HoM
I must say I have been extremely disappointed with the "Valor" monument. Not being able to add green weapons, etc is a letdown from what they could have done. I've kept a collection of the swords and shields I've used, wanting and hoping to add them to the HoM only to see you can only add the ugly Destroyer weapons.
I'd like to see green weapons/offhands (shields, focuses, etc) be able to be added to the HoM.
Edit: Did a search for "green, valor, hall of monuments, valor", nothing really relevant appeared.
I don't care if greens are worthless, some people collect weapons/offhands and want to display them. That should be reason enough.
ANet has already stated that not everything will carry over, so there is no harm in displaying greens/etc.

Because green weapons are really much of an achievement...
I mean, titles aren't much of an achievement, but greens are just next to worthless now.

This has been metioned like 20 times and Anet knows that ppl want more weapons for the "Valor" monoument but it most likely will never happen...

"Valor" could have been done better, for sure.
But, not like this.

I understand the sentiment, but being that greens nowdays are worth nothing because they're very easily farmed, I doubt Anet would ever add them to HoM.
I've been adding Destroyer weapons to my monk's HoM, but her heroes use the weapons after they're dedicated. Money sink? Sure it is, but at this point in the game I don't have anything to spend on anyways, so I don't care. My monk doesn't need a retirement fund.

More Weapons? Yes
Greens? No, if any greens, only end-game and Elite Mission greens *sorrow's furnace, Tombs, Urgoz, Deep, Divine Path, DoA, Throne of Secrets, Slavers'*are there any there btw?, Epilogue*
Only thing I say that should happen to greens is the deletion ALL of non-endgame/elite mission greens and the addition of a few end-game *just to reduce QQing about the mods they want no longer exist in greens*. Or, at the very least, the deletion of all greens on Shing Jea Island and Istani.
Only addition of weapons to the Valor section should be the addition of Gold End-game/Elite weapons, but that would only mean Destroyer and Tormented. Maybe change it to that and add in a gold set from UW/FoW, Sorrows, and Urgoz/Deep.

One thing they could surely do is to make the weapons show up bigger.
Just think about displaying daggers. *buys binoculars*

gives greens the much needed value. HoM is not an achievement...its a way to bring some things from GW1 to GW2.

It depends what is in your own HOM as to whether it is an achievement. I'm gradually getting very proud of mine.
I personally don't think all greens should be added though, they are not very rare and no is no sense of achievement in displaying them. However, restricting to destroyer weapons is extreme. Maybe other rare weapons/end game greens would be ok

Since the HoM is more a bridge between GW things into GW2, I don't see a reason why greens should be added. Greens already have set mods on them, which we don't know if they will/will not be useful in GW2. Also, what would be the point to bringing in old skins to a new environment? Even what I just stated is sort of a mute reasoning anyway, since none of us knows exactly how the GW2 environment will take things from our HoM. Right now we might all complain about the Destroyer skins or how they should have given us more variety in things we can add to the HoM, which I agree also, to a point. However, we don't even know yet if we'll be wielding those Destroyer items in GW2 yet. The HoM has Destroyer weapons for every profession, for all we know, there will be npc's in GW2 that will sell every type of GW skin we have now, but will only be available to you if you have all the Destroyer weapons in your HoM.
This is more a discussion we should re-hash when GW2 comes out though, since we lack information.

/notsigned. Greens are not an achievement. They are not rare and worth next to nothing. They are more of a junk then anything else.

Well, it's not the same a Shing Jea Green than Rotscale's one.
Some of the greens could be allowed in the HoM, but not all.

/notsigned - ever, under ANY circumstances.
The condensed version:A-net has come out and said, we do not want to add 2 almost 3 year old skins into a "new" game. Greens would take thousands of man hours to reproduce for GW2.(Isn't there a green skin for almost every weapon skin in the game?)
From the monument:
* A hero's greatest weapons are courage of
heart, unchained
Strength of soul and rightful fury
unrestrained,
Never to be vanquished.
* Witness here the weapons of the
legendary hero, <-Name->, whose
achievements will never be forgotten.
"I am wielding a Rago's Flame wand."
Doesn't fit with the above description as it is not your flame wand, its Rago's.

UMMMMMMMMMMM
I can see it now, I displayed my Rago's firewand and it didn't carry over thread in the gw2 forums. I agree that the destroyer weapons are hideous. Its the confusion it will create. Not from the people that read stuff or understand the concept of DISPLAY ONLY but from all the people that will cry big ol' tears that they didn't get it in GW2. The support tickets created, The Logistics involved in giving an inch on this is way more than they want to contend with.
To date This is 1 of the ONLY games that has ever attempted to let people transfer some of what the have from version 1 to version 2, Most say "thanks for your cash and start over like everyone else". I personally am grateful for the privilege to bridge the gap and will be happy with what I receive. There is no need to change the things in the HoM as it is a small narrow bridge that merges gw1 to gw2 other than that it has no effect on anything, other than visualizing your "stuff".

[Suggestion] Use search XD
suggested already hundreds of times this here, this idea is nearly a dead horse, since EotN exists and people found out, that only Destroyer Weapons get on the Monument for weapons ...
However, signed anyway +1
PS: Imo the monument should be simple changed to the gameplay, that players shoudl be able to put there 11 items of choice there and the only requirements that must be given to do that are:
- Item must have max stats and when modded, mods must be max, its not a requirement if the weapon is inscribable, or not.
- item must have R9 or lower, any R10 or higher won't be putable onto the monument.
- any item of the same type can be putted only once onto the monument.
- collector weapons can't be putted onto the monument.
***********
These changes wil allow players to put onto the monument all nice looking items, includign the contest items, tormented stuff, zodiac stuff, celestial stuff, BMP stuff and other rare nice looking non set items that look much better, than those destroyer items.
The only thing anet has to change for this, when they want to make it true, that filling the HoM will provide players some nice gimmicks for GW2 later, that those gimmicks for this monument won't be bonded onto the destroyer weapons, but simple on the condition of how much of the 11 slots are filled with rare weapons that fulfill the requirements to be placed onto the monument.
This way it will become totally regardless, if the player sets the monuments with D-Weapons, or with other stuff, only important will be then for the player later in GW2, if all 11 slots are full, or not.
making every weapon putable onto the HoM would also increase the value of many items greatly, certain stuff that is atm only worth a piece of toilet paper would regain maybe some value again it had, before the stuff got overfarmed, who knows ...
